Public Awareness at IADA
One of IADA's functions per law is to initiate and develop educational and public awareness materials.
The main objective of public awareness is to decrease as much as possible the gap between the actual information available to the public and the information we would like the public to be aware of.
First and foremost, the public in general and target populations in particular, must be made aware of the "real picture" - that is, actual facts must be related and myths and partial truths must be busted.
The next step involves translating these facts into an accurate portrait of the present situation based on research data and facts.
An finally, efforts must be made to create an atmosphere and environment which encourage the public to engage in activities, targeted towards attitudes and behavior changes.
All public awareness activities are based on IADA's goals and annual work plans. Activities are accompanied by research and surveys, in order to explore results and to achieve optimal awareness activities geared and suited to particular populations and issues.
